Spiral Path Farm, a 255-acre community supported agriculture (CSA) farm, in Perry County, Pa. was interested in purchasing a 64-acre land tract to expand their farming business. A critical factor for the land purchase was locating an irrigation water supply well on the tract capable of delivering 50 to 100 gallons-per-minute (gpm). ARM and Ground Water Assessment Inc. conducted a hydrogeological investigation and a 3-dimensional earth resistivity geophysical survey over the 64-acre tract in order to locate the needed high yield water supply well. The first proposed well site was drilled to a total depth of 500 feet and produced 250 gpm in the well test, more than double the discharge capacity that was required for the land.
