Career Opportunities - Hershey, PA

Energy Engineer

Energy Engineer: A qualified candidate should have: (i) a thorough knowledge of building energy systems; (ii) the ability to quantify, in detail, the facility and equipment energy loads (both electrical and fuel-based) of office buildings, industrial buildings, manufacturing facilities, etc.; and, (iii) the ability to prepare energy and financial models for energy efficiency improvement projects.

The ideal candidate would be self-motivated and possess the following: at least a bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or an equivalent four-year engineering/technical degree; at least 3-5 years of experience and competence working in energy consulting; a thorough understanding of at least one type of renewable energy system; a desire to aggressively market and develop a nascent business division; and excellent professional- writing and communication skills. Applicant should be able to: prepare detailed spreadsheet-based financial pro formas; generate engineering design drawings; write cost proposals; operate independently; manage personnel and projects; and directly oversee installations and associated construction activities.

Engineer

Civil/Environmental/Geotechnical Engineer: Ideal candidate will have 0 to 5 years of experience, the desire and ability to support a wide range of engineering and environmental projects, and strong writing and communication skills. Projects will involve field inspections of soils and foundations, erosion and sediment control planning, stormwater management evaluations, geotechnical engineering, solid waste management, preparation of reports and permit applications, and/or environmental investigation and remediation projects. BS or MS degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is required.

Geologist

Geologist: Ideal candidate will have 0 to 7 years of experience, the desire and ability to support a wide range of projects, and strong writing and communication skills. The position will require varying degrees of field and office work, potentially requiring overnight stays away from home on occasion. Projects will generally involve soil, rock and groundwater investigations, environmental sampling, water supply development and pumping test support, storage tank investigations, solid waste management, environmental compliance evaluations, and report writing. Prior experience with soil compaction testing, sinkhole repair, Geoprobe operation, environmental chemistry and/or groundwater modeling is a plus. BS or MS degree in Geology or Geological Sciences is required.

Geophysicists

Wireline (Open Hole) Operator - Candidate must possess at least 1 year of experience operating an open hole wireline truck.  They must have experience logging wells for oil and gas applications running tools to depths greater than 8000 feet.  The operator must have a Pennsylvania CDL.  The home office location for this position will be Canonsburg, State College, or Hershey, PA.  Candidate must have demonstrated ability to work independently on remote well sites, possess a strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work well and communicate well with others.  High school diploma or equivalent along with industry experience required. The preferred qualifications would include Associate's degree or completion of technical or trade school with a minimum of two (2) years directly related work experience, knowledge of OSHA safety requirements, possession of a commercial driver's license, and radioactive materials training, the physical ability to lift 80 lbs on a consistent basis, ability to work in a team environment and establish good working relationships with others, available and willingness to travel to various locations.

Senior Geophysicist/Project Manager: Candidate must possess 5 plus years of experience and a B.A./ B.S., or M.S. degree in Geology (with geophysics courses) or Geophysics. Candidate shall be proficient with data collection and processing of seismic refraction, MASW, EM, Electrical Resistivity, GPR, and gravity methods. Demonstrated ability to develop and manage comprehensive geophysical business and projects, manage multiple projects, and staff.

Project UXO Geophysicist: Candidate shall possess a B.S. or M.S. degree in Geophysics, Geology, or related field with at least 2 years of experience in UXO geophysical investigations. Candidate should have working knowledge of UXO geophysical sensors (EM-61, Magnetics) and navigation systems (RTK GPS). Data analysis skills using Geosoft Geophysical Analysis Software are also required. Surveying and GIS experience a plus. The primary responsibility of this position will be to oversee UXO geophysical field teams and projects on sites across the U.S. Specific project responsibilities will be data collection team oversite, data analysis, quality control activities, work plan and report writing. This position will require extended travel.

Engineers

Civil/Environmental/Geotechnical Engineer: Candidate should have 5 to 10 plus years experience in landfill design, permitting, compliance support, and construction certification. Advanced knowledge and implementation of MD regulations required; PA regulatory knowledge is a plus. Must possess broad knowledge and understanding of engineering and scientific disciplines applied in landfill permitting.  Demonstrated ability to produce comprehensive permitting and construction drawings, manage multiple projects, and staff. BS in Civil Engineering and PE are required. MS is preferred.

Geophysicist

AutoCAD Operator: Ideal candidate will have 0 to 5 years of experience in drafting for civil engineering and/or surveying projects. Qualified candidates must have proficient verbal and written communication skills, excellent computer skills, strong work ethic, and the ability to work as a team player. Candidate must have proven drafting presentation skills, must be proficient with AutoCAD Land Desktop 2006 and Civil 3D 2007. Must also be able to efficiently generate grading plans, profiles, sections details, and quantity/volume calculations. Must have computer literacy in Microsoft Word and Excel. Environmental Scientist

Environmental Scientist: Qualified candidates must have proficient verbal and written communication skills, excellent computer skills, strong work ethic, and the ability to work as a team player. Successful candidates should have a minimum of a B.S. degree in biology, ecology, botany, wildlife management, environmental science or related natural science field and 3 years (minimum) of experience. Responsibilities include: conducting wetland identification and delineation, performing surface water and aquatic assessments, completing threatened and endangered species surveys, conducting agency coordination, preparation of state and federal water encroachment permits and preparing technical environmental reports. Position would be related to the oil and gas industry. Experience with global positioning system is desirable. Some travel and overnight stay will be required.

GIS Analyst

GIS Analyst staff professional: Qualified candidates must have proficient verbal and written communication skills, excellent computer skills, strong work ethic, and the ability to work as a team player. Candidate must have a BS or MS in geography, geology, environmental sciences, civil or environmental engineering with 0-5 years experience in GIS. Information database development, IT, CAD and web site development a plus. Position responsibilities include but are not limited to GIS mapping, spatial analysis, 3D imaging, impact analysis, GPS equipment usage and support of data.
