Part of the Harms/Benefits analysis for landfill expansion or development includes identification of threatened and endangered species of plants, animals, and those species' habitats, which might be impacted by landfill development and operation. To improve our capabilites of indentifying these species and protecting the natural environment while assisting communities requiring landfill capacity, ARM has established a new Ecology division.
