Hershey, PA – ARM Group Inc, a consulting firm providing geotechnical, geophysical, environmental, and renewable energy services, has opened a new office in Richmond, Virginia. The Virginia office is managed by Kenneth E. Bannister, who joined ARM as a Senior Hydrogeologist.
Mr. Bannister brings nearly thirty years of experience in environmental project management in both public and private sectors, including work in water resources planning and development, brownfield redevelopment, underground storage tank remediation, geotechnical investigations, hazardous and solid waste studies, and blasting vibration control. Mr. Bannister served as the Chief Hydrogeologist for the Vermont Department of Health, and operated his own consulting business for many years. Prior to joining ARM he was a Senior Geologist in the Richmond office of Golder Associates. Mr. Bannister has conducted hundreds of geophysical, seismic, well drilling, soil boring, and hydrogeological investigations. He has significant experience in remote sensing and geophysical methods of groundwater exploration with many record breaking water well yields. He has conducted volunteer work with Partners of the Americas, American Water Works Association (AWWA), and Water for People.
Mr. Bannister received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Geology from the University of Vermont in 1981, and completed graduate coursework in Advance Engineering Mathematics, Groundwater Hydrology, and Remote Sensing. He has completed advanced training in Electrical Resistivity Imaging at AGI in Austin, TX.
The addition of Mr. Bannister enhances ARM's leading expertise in using geophysical technology to develop water supplies. The opening of the Virginia office is part of ARM's strategy to expand both our services and geographic market.
ARM's new Virginia office will focus on government and private-sector clients in the Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and D.C. areas. ARM has completed site cleanup projects, is currently identifying unexploded ordinance at military bases in Virginia, and has ongoing contracts to provide groundwater consulting services with Virginia municipalities.
