Proposed EPA Rule - Mandatory Reporting of Greenhouse Gases
In March 2009, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a proposed rule for mandatory greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting from large GHG emissions sources in the United States.  The proposed rule will be published in the Federal Register.  A pre-publication copy can be found on http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/emissions/ghgrulemaking.html. PA Energy Fund Approved
Pennsylvania Governor Edward Rendell has signed a bill to establish a fund supporting renewable energy and energy conservation programs for the Commonwealth. Though its been a struggle to fund an energy program for the Commonwealth, Pennsylvania now joins a growing number of states to initiate a comprehensive energy program. The path to approval of this energy fund has taken some time, beginning with the announcement of Rendell's Energy Independence Strategy in January 2007. Rendell has indicated that he will be working through the summer "to reach an agreement with the legislature on measures that will improve" what he called "the state’s flawed energy policies."
