Though its been a struggle to fund an energy program for the Commonwealth, Pennsylvania now joins a growing number of states to initiate a comprehensive energy program. The path to approval of this energy fund has taken some time, beginning with the announcement of Rendell's Energy Independence Strategy in January 2007. Rendell has indicated that he will be working through the summer "to reach an agreement with the legislature on measures that will improve" what he called "the state’s flawed energy policies."
