People Behind the Projects: Kyle Johnson, P.E.
Kyle Johnson was an Environmental Systems Engineering student at Penn State University when he joined ARM Group’s Solid Waste team as an intern. That opportunity launched a career shaped by curiosity, collaboration, and purpose, qualities that continue to define Kyle’s impact more than nine years later.
As his career progressed, Kyle’s curiosity and drive to take on new challenges led him to broader responsibilities within the organization. Today, he serves as a Project Manager and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania, specializing in engineering design, permitting, and construction-phase services. Kyle has worked with a variety of clients, including landfills, natural gas operators, and solar developers. His career stands as a testament to ARM Group’s investment in nurturing talent from the ground up.
Kyle has evolved into a strategic partner on projects across Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, and West Virginia. He’s led design efforts for major landfill expansions, natural gas facility development, and slope stability evaluations. All projects that demand both technical expertise and collaborative problem-solving.
Reflecting on what drives him, Kyle shares, “I am motivated to help our team create the best work product possible for our clients while remaining conscious of budget and timeline. I am also motivated by pursuing opportunities to help our team grow and improve, both as individuals and as a group.”
From designing 70-foot-tall MSE berms over historic waste sites to implementing novel stormwater solutions not previously permitted for Natural Gas sites, Kyle’s work shows how much can be achieved when individuals are empowered and supported within a strong, value-driven team.
Kyle embodies ARM Group’s Ownership Mentality, a mindset that drives team members to take initiative, think strategically beyond their roles, and contribute to the success of the whole organization. He’s gone beyond his day-to-day responsibilities to strengthen processes that help ARM Group’s team work more efficiently and deliver exceptional results for clients, ensuring both people and projects have what they need to succeed.
