ARM Sponsors Coaches vs. Cancer

armadmin • June 27, 2012

Coaches vs. Cancer (CVC) is a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches that empowers basketball coaches, their teams, and local communities to make a difference in the fight against cancer.  Personnel from ARM Group Inc. (ARM) have been involved in the Penn State University’s Chapter of CVC since its inception in 1996.  Co-Founder, Steve Greer (Director of Construction Services) served as Executive Director for the initial 15 years.  CVC recently held the 16th Annual Golf Tournament at PSU’s Golf Courses on June 1st.   Nearly 300 golfers played in the outing.

Wendy Pelky, P.E. (Project Manager), has chaired the On-Course Food Subcommittee, for the past six years.  In addition to orchestrating the menus, setup, breakdown and schedule (and much, much more) of the other four food vendors, her primary responsibility is ensuring that the Tournament Sponsor (Sheetz) continues in that lead role.

Tessa Antolick, P.E. (Project Engineer II), has chaired the Golf Tournament Awards Reception Subcommittee for the last four years, which is held annually at the Mt. Nittany Club of Beaver Stadium.  Additionally, Tessa coordinates the overall Golf Committee meetings and works on the Sponsorship and Registration Committees.

Both Tessa and Wendy also chair and lead other CVC Events throughout the year.

ARM committed to a Coaches Level Sponsorship this year, greatly assisting the committee in generating revenues over $108, 000.00 for the golf event alone.  PSU CVC has netted over $2M since its inception, which has been used for both cancer research and providing financial support for families and individuals affected by cancer.
