New PADEP Solar Farm Earth Disturbance Guidance

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) has released revised permitting guidance regarding Solar Farm Earth Disturbance effective immediately!
The PADEP’s Chapter 102 Permitting for Solar Panel Farms FAQ document is providing additional clarity to the Department’s interpretations of the applicability of NPDES permits for solar panel farms. New guidance includes detailed criteria for satisfying the post-construction stormwater management (PCSM) requirements in lieu of a detailed stormwater analysis. Also, incentives are being offered for utilizing native/pollinator ground cover.
